critical care
The Critical Care department is the busiest, most essential, and technologically advanced area of a hospital. Serving as the backbone of any top-tier hospital globally, it provides care for patients with severe or life-threatening conditions requiring continuous monitoring and treatment to maintain normal body functions. Staffed by specialized critical care physicians, nurses, and physiotherapists, it features a higher staff-to-patient ratio and access to advanced medical equipment and resources.
What We Treat
-
All critical care beds are equipped with 5-channel advanced bedside monitors that include EtCO2 monitoring. There is a central monitoring system connected to all beds to enhance patient monitoring and care.
-
The department offers 24/7 access to both invasive and non-invasive ventilators, including the most advanced models with the latest modes. High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy is available for improved respiratory support.
-
Advanced hemodynamic monitoring systems, such as FloTrac (EV1000) devices, are used for assessing fluid responsiveness and continuous cardiac output measurement in very critical patients, alongside invasive arterial blood pressure and central venous pressure monitoring.
-
The unit also provides facilities for bedside ECHO, ultrasound, and X-ray, as well as pulmonary critical procedures like interventional bronchoscopy.
-
There are also facilities for bedside hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and plasmapheresis, as well as gastrointestinal procedures like endoscopy and colonoscopy.
-
Additionally, the department is equipped to perform temporary and permanent pacemaker implantations and primary angioplasty.
-
For infected patients, there is an isolated cabin with a negative pressure gradient to ensure proper containment and care.
