what we treat

Arthritis

Arthritis refers to a group of disorders that impact your joints and muscles. Common symptoms include joint pain, inflammation, skin redness around the joints, stiffness, and limited movement. There are over 100 types of arthritis, with osteoarthritis being the most prevalent. Osteoarthritis typically arises from joint trauma, infection, or aging. Other notable forms include rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and related autoimmune diseases. Diagnosis can be confirmed through blood tests and X-rays. Management of arthritis involves a combination of medication, exercise, rest, weight management, nutrition, and sometimes surgery. Surgical options vary based on the severity of the condition and the doctor's evaluation. Specialized orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, and physiotherapists often use computer-assisted orthopedic surgery techniques to ensure long-term effectiveness.

Total Hip Replacement or Hip Arthoplasty

The surgery reshapes the hip joint by replacing the arthritic joint, thereby eliminating the damaged surfaces that cause pain. Introduced in the 1960s, the initial hip replacements used a metal ball and plastic socket. Today, there are two primary types of total hip replacements: cemented and uncemented prostheses, both of which are widely used. Modern artificial components are stronger and made from materials like chrome, cobalt, titanium, or ceramic, available in various shapes and designs.

Joint Replacement Surgeries

The Joint Replacement team provides state-of-the-art surgical care employing up-to-date techniques for the treatment.

Total Knee Replacement Surgery

A new dimension of partial knee replacement surgery is unique to this hospital.

Total knee replacement, or arthroplasty, involves relining the joint's bone end surfaces with artificial parts called prostheses. This procedure features a new design known as High Flexion Knees, which allows for a nearly complete range of movement.

This surgery is needed in arthritic elbows, shoulders and unsalvageable trauma situations of these joints. The surgery can provide useful function in these difficult situations.

Physiotherapy Department

Physical therapy plays a very crucial role in the rehabilitation of patients with orthopaedic conditions. Our skilled physiotherapists create customized care plans to reduce pain and improve flexibility and strength as safely and quickly as possible.
